Our Mission

The Mission of the BCDC is to create a thriving Bennington County that leverages the hard work of volunteers, activists, candidates, and elected officials. We recognize the importance of every individual in protecting our democracy, and we are dedicated to championing democratic values, fostering inclusivity, and driving positive change in our community and throughout Vermont.

Our Vision

The Vision of the Bennington County Democratic Committee (BCDC) is to be a vibrant, collaborative, and interactive servant-leader team, enabling Democrats and Democratic Town Committees to improve the Bennington County communities they live and work in, as well as at the state of Vermont and national levels.

Our Purpose

  1. To promote the interests, ideals, and principles of the Democratic Party;

  2. To assist in the organization and mission of the Vermont Democratic Party (VDP), including election of delegates to the Vermont State Democratic Committee (VSDC) and participation in the process of adoption of a party platform;

  3. To support the organization and function of the various Town Democratic Committees in Bennington County, including the election of delegates to the BCDC, the State Democratic Conventions, the National Democratic Committee, and National Democratic Convention; and

  4. To support the election of Democratic candidates for town, county, state and national offices.
