Kate Seaton to run write-in campaign against Plunkett
Shaftsbury, VT – Kate Seaton of Shaftsbury today announced her write-in campaign for the Vermont state senate against the current write-in candidate Robert Plunkett. Both are seeking to fill the seat of the late Dick Sears.
Kate had originally planned not to run a write-in campaign. Due to increasing demand for an alternative write-in candidate, Kate has reconsidered her strategy and will step up to go head-to-head with the current write-in candidate, Robert Plunkett.
"I am running to amplify the voice of the people here in Bennington County," Seaton says. "I'm a Vermonter who has lived through the struggles of poverty, unemployment, and lack of access to quality healthcare. I know what it's like to feel like your voice isn't being heard."
Seaton’s campaign is built on five core principles:
Bodily Autonomy & Affordable Healthcare for All
Protecting the Environment and our Natural Resources
Quality Public Education
Creating Gainful Employment Opportunities
Reasonable Cost of Living
"I want to forge a positive legacy like my predecessor," Seaton said. "I will be a senator who truly represents the values of our great state and our people, a senator who stands up for what's right, even when it's hard."
Kate is urging supporters to write her name on the primary ballot this August 13th. For more information and details, go to Kate Seaton’s website at vote.kateseaton.com, email her at vote@kateseaton.com, or visit Kate’s Facebook page to stay updated on her campaign.
